Arts and Crafts 

 

The purpose of the Arts and Crafts class is to provide the students an avenue to explore the "hands-on" basic art of crafts.  The vocabulary, techniques, and cultural background of crafts will be studied to gain an appreciation for various craft mediums.  The art elements and principles will also be introduced to give meaning and value to each craft studied. Some projects include bookmaking, paper marbling, batik dying, weaving, and mixed media collage.
